Theft of NASA Bronze Sculpture - March 10, 2010 Image Below

The Durer Rhino was a woodblock print done in 1515.

As the story goes, an Indian Raja sent the King of Portugal an Indian Rhino by ship which sank off the coast of Italy. A traveler saw the rhino's body washed up on the beach and described it to Durer. From that verbal description Durer scribed his famous woodblock.

I tried to match Durer's image in 3 dimensions.

NASA Bronze Sculpture Stolen

On the evening of Tuesday March 9, 2010 This Bronze Sculpture, "We Have Lift Off" was stolen from it's temporary base outside my studio in Wappingers Falls, NY.

Dimensions: 42 Inches High x 72 Inches Long x 53 Inches Wide. Weight 1500 pounds. It is designed to sit on a thirty two inch base so that the tail of the shuttle is 74 inches high. Nine 24 inch figures are standing on a crumbling infrastructure and books holding up the NASA Shuttle. It is a private commission.
