Michael Speaker: Man With the Yellow Briefcase

Comb-over - Finish

So I drew out the  “strands” on some solid koa wood, sanded it to a round clump of hair look, trying to stay on the dumb side of the line. Then I cut the pieces into lengths of about three quarter of an inch. This shortened up my strands so they did not quite reach to where I thought they should land.

When I first stood back and looked, I hated it – thought it looked really bad. Then it struck me. Comb-overs are supposed to look bad. So now I am happy with the results.
